Born in Lüdinghausen, Germany

2008 – 2011: B. Sc. in Chemical Biology at the TU Dortmund

2011 – 2013: M. Sc. in Chemical Biology at the TU Dortmund

2013 – ongoing: graduate student at the faculty of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the

Ruhr-University Bochum

My Research project targets the multistep enzymatic synthesis of complex molecules using enzyme cascades. The enzyme cascades also serve as a model system for developing a set of rules for solvent design in biocatalysis.

My work involves heterologous expression in Escherichia coli and Pichia pastoris, different techniques of biochemistry and molecular biology as well as enzyme immobilization.

PhD stipend from the Graduate School of Solvation Science (RESOLV).
